American Hustle: Modern Brush Typeface

Product Detail

American Hustle is a script modern brush typeface with the raw energy of a hand-painted street sign. Fast, slanted strokes and a saturated orange-red ink give every headline the feel of something pulled straight off a studio wall, confident and in a hurry.

The letterforms look made with a loaded, dry-edged brush. Strokes thicken and taper in a single pass, with fine streaks of bristle texture running through the thicker stems. Capitals are tall and lean forward, with an oversized “S” that loops through its own curve and a “R” with a long, kicked-out leg. Letters sit tight against one another, so words read as one continuous gesture. Alternate characters and underline swashes let you vary repeated letters and finish a line with a long brushed stroke.

The typeface suits streetwear graphics, sports and fitness branding, music posters, barbershop signage, and bold social media covers. Set it large, on a plain or textured backdrop, and download it to try in your next project.

Key Design Characteristics:

• Slanted brush strokes: A strong forward lean and quick, tapered strokes give every line a sense of motion.
• Dry-brush texture: Fine bristle streaks inside thick stems add a handmade, painted look.
• Looping capital “S”: The oversized, swirling S works as a focal point in titles like “Hustle”.
• Kicked “R” and “K” legs: Long, sweeping diagonal strokes extend past the baseline for a hand-lettered feel.
• Tight, flowing spacing: Letters sit close together so words read as one rhythmic line.
• Uppercase and lowercase sets: Both cases are drawn in the same brush style, with the lowercase staying compact and upright in feel.
• Display-size legibility: Works best at headline sizes, where the stroke detail stays clear.
