Northwind font is a handdrawn script typeface with the quiet, unhurried feel of a note written in a favorite pen. Tall, slender strokes and a gentle forward lean give every line a personal, slightly wistful voice, like a postcard from a slow afternoon.
The letterforms are drawn with a smooth, monoline pen, with soft rounded stroke ends and a lightly uneven rhythm. Capitals stand tall and narrow, and the “N” opens a title with a long, confident upstroke. Ascenders on “h”, “d”, “l” and “k” climb well above the x-height, while the lowercase stays compact and airy. Alternates for several letters and a set of ligatures, including OU, ST, OM, GR and AK, help words read like real handwriting rather than repeated shapes. Numerals, punctuation and currency symbols follow the same fine, handwritten line.
